Tirar Tortorello, 53, has been arrested in New Hampshire for allegedly leaving three pipe bombs under the porch of one of his neighbors. In the Nutmeg State, this charge is a class A felony, and can carry with it a punishment of up to 15 years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
The incident was reported to Laconia Police on Sunday, when a suspicious package was found at a residence on Oak Street. Surveillance video showed the defendant leaving the package.
When police unwrapped it, they found three objects inside the package, and the New Hampshire State Police bomb squad was called in to confirm that they were, indeed, pipe bombs.
The bombs were “live” according to the X-ray, and a robot was used to transport them out of the area. The defendant himself confessed to placing the package, and also described the contents.
It is currently unknown whether any connection exists between Tortorello and the intended target of the bombs, and the motive remains a mystery.
