Grandmother viciously attacked while waiting at bus stop

A 73-year-old grandmother was shockingly attacked while waiting at a bus stop in Long Beach, California, on May 19th, 2023.

The 27-year-old Amber Jackson suspect was arrested and charged with one count of elderly abuse and felony battery. Jackson is reportedly being held on a $50,000 bail.

Video surveillance of the incident captured Jackson walking up to the senior citizen before violently striking her in the face, causing her to fall into oncoming traffic, narrowly avoiding a passing car.

Jackson is also said to have verbally assaulted the grandmother before fleeing the scene. The Long Beach Fire Department was called to the scene and provided medical aid to the victim before transporting her to the hospital.

The elderly woman’s son, Jesus Ramirez, reported to ABC7 that his mother is “devastated” and feels unsafe leaving her home. He described his mother as a “sweetheart” who is loved by everyone who knows her.

Witnesses have said that Jackson is a homeless drug addict who has been seen taking her clothes off in public. However, they stated that this was the first time they had seen her behave in such an aggressive manner. Ramirez believes that Jackson is suffering from mental illness.

At this time, the police are still investigating the case to determine a possible motive for the attack.
