Father arrested after shooting at a naked man found in his daughter’s bed

Last week, the police apprehended 44-year-old David Victor Miller after a shooting incident that occurred in his Cape Coral, Florida home. The incident involved Miller shooting at a naked man he found in his teenage daughter’s bed after a night of extensive drinking. As a result, Miller was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

The statement from the police revealed that Miller’s home was being rented by a married couple. Miller explained that he had woken up to find one of the tenants in his daughter’s bedroom without any clothes on. When the officers arrived at the scene, they were able to escort both of the man’s roommates away from the bedroom.

The investigations further revealed that the two victims were living with Miller’s wife and daughter. Additionally, the police found shell casings and bullet holes in the bedroom door. Miller claimed that he and the two tenants had been drinking heavily and the naked man told the police that he had gone to the wrong room after getting out of bed in the middle of the night to use the restroom.

The girl woke up to find the man and then alerted her father. The man’s spouse yelled at him, informing him that he was in the wrong room. Miller then headed to the man’s bedroom, beating on the door and threatening to kill him before shooting his gun 3-4 times outside the bedroom door. The girl did not report any crime having taken place.

Miller was then arrested and taken to Lee County Jail where he is held until his arraignment on April 10.
