28-year-old singer dies after collapsing on stage

This past weekend, fans of a South African music artist were struck with grief after the sudden passing of 28-year-old rapper and singer Costa Titch, otherwise known by his real name Constantinos Tsobanoglu.

He had just performed at the popular music festival, Ulta South Africa, several hours prior to collapsing on stage. The incident was caught on video, showing Costa Titch falling over, asking for help before briefly standing up and then falling again. His family did not make public the cause of death in their statement, but they expressed their deep sorrow over the tragedy that occurred at the same festival Costa Titch had just performed at.

They highlighted the late artist’s many talents, such as being a rapper, dancer, singer, songwriter, and collaborator. Costa Titch had initially gained fame through his amapiano music, a subgenre of house music with heavy basslines and piano melodies. He was also known for infusing South African culture, style and language into trap music. His single “Big Flexa” was a hit on TikTok, and he even got the chance to collaborate with Senegalese-American artist Akon for a remix.

Many South African music stars have been affected by the news, remembering the impressive legacy of Costa Titch. His family expressed their gratitude for the emergency responders who had been at the scene of his death. Although the rapper is no longer with us, his spirit and style will live on in the hearts of his many fans.
