Keante Harris, a 45-year-old former assistant principal from Alabama, was recently arrested and charged with murder in a triple homicide case that has remained unsolved for over a decade. Harris, along with three other individuals, was apprehended last week for their alleged involvement in the murders that transpired in Union City, Georgia, in January 2013.
The victims of the cold-case homicide were identified as Cheryl Colquitt-Thompson, 32, Quinones King, 33, and Rodney Cottrell, 43. According to the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, the victims were lured into a house and forced inside at gunpoint by the suspects. They were then subjected to torture and later found dead inside an abandoned 2010 Dodge Charger on an I-85 exit ramp in Fulton County.
Harris is currently employed as an assistant principal at McAdory Middle School in Birmingham, Alabama. Following the charges, he has been placed on administrative leave. Although the length of Harris’ tenure as an assistant principal is not specified, his social media profiles suggest that he has been in the education field since 2006. Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin of Jefferson County Schools has stated that the charges against Harris are not related to his role within the school district.
The investigation into the triple homicide remained unresolved for over 11 years. However, Harris and the three other suspects – Kenneth Thompson, Kevin Harris, and Darrell Harris – recently emerged as potential suspects. They were arrested last week in three different states and are now facing three counts each of malice murder.
The connection between Harris and the other suspects, as well as their alleged involvement in the 2013 triple homicide, has not been disclosed by law enforcement authorities. The investigation is still ongoing, and more details are expected to be revealed as the case progresses.
The arrest has brought a ray of hope to the families of the victims, who have been waiting for justice for more than a decade. However, the motive behind the murders and other relevant information have not been disclosed by the authorities at this time.
