Frustrated Teen Shoots His Parents

A 19-year-old from Chandler, Arizona, identified as Jeremiah Estel Blair, is in custody after allegedly attempting to murder his parents, an act he reportedly planned for years due to dissatisfaction with his upbringing. The incident occurred in the early hours of the day following Mother’s Day.

According to local law enforcement, Blair shot his parents in their home, located approximately 20 miles from Phoenix. The victims were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. Blair was apprehended at the scene without resistance.

Court documents reveal that Blair confessed to the crime, which he had been contemplating for several years. He expressed resentment about his childhood, claiming he was not treated as he should have been.

The initial plan was to execute the attack on Mother’s Day, but Blair postponed it to the following morning. As per the court documents, Blair was armed and ready with a video camera to record the incident when his father descended the stairs around 5:30 a.m. He shot his father in the forearm after warning him of the impending attack.

Upon hearing the commotion, Blair’s mother emerged from the bedroom and was shot in the chest. Blair was reportedly pleased with the belief that his mother would not survive the attack, although he was aware his father was likely to live.

Court documents further indicate that Blair expressed regret not over his actions, but over the fact that his parents survived the attack. He acknowledged the wrongfulness of his actions but proceeded with his plan to kill his parents.

Blair is currently facing two counts of first-degree attempted murder and remains in police custody.
