Kyle A. Braun, 31, is facing attempted murder charges in connection with the stabbing of his mother, Susan Early, 59, in Brownsburg, Indiana.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Early lying on her front lawn with a large kitchen knife sticking out from her head, and yet she was still conscious and alert.
According to Brownsburg Police Captain Jennifer Barrett, Early was able to identify her assailant despite her critical condition. Braun was then arrested in the area shortly after and was taken to a hospital for treatment on superficial wounds on his hand. He was later charged with attempted murder and two counts of battery by bodily waste on an officer, the latter stemming from him reportedly spitting on an officer while in custody.
Furthermore, Barrett also revealed that Braun has a warrant for failure to appear for a battery case out of Ohio, as well as an active nationwide warrant due to a parole violation from a burglary charge in Ohio.
Prior to this attack, Braun was last seen on March 21, after he was reportedly placed in a mental health facility in Ohio and cut off his GPS monitor two days later.
