A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning at a convenience store in Las Vegas, resulting in the death of two women and injury to a man. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently on the hunt for the suspect, who is described as a Black man dressed in dark clothing and a mask. After the shooting, the suspect reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle.
Lieutenant Jason Johansson of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has made a public appeal for any information related to the shooting. The incident occurred in the East Valley neighborhood of Las Vegas, inside a convenience store. The police received multiple calls around 3:25 a.m. local time, reporting that a man had entered the store, fired shots, and quickly fled the scene.
Upon arrival, the authorities found two victims inside the store. A third victim, a woman believed to be in her 20s, was discovered in the store’s parking lot. She was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the women found inside the store also lost her life after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The male victim, however, is reported to be in stable condition, according to Johansson.
Johansson has raised the possibility that the shooter may have known one of the victims, suggesting that the incident could have been a targeted attack. However, the motive behind the shooting is still under investigation. Johansson stressed the importance of public cooperation in identifying the shooter.
Johansson expressed his concern about the shooter still being at large, stating, “We have someone who went and shot people in a store who is still at large. Naturally, there is a certain level of threat that accompanies that.” He further added, “However, our investigation has led us to believe that there may be a connection between one of the victims and the suspect. We are actively working on determining whether the attack was targeted or random based on the information we have currently.”
The Las Vegas police are urging the community to assist in capturing the suspect. They are appealing to anyone with relevant information about the shooting to come forward and contact law enforcement.
