TikTok Star’s Body Parts Found Clogging Water Plant Days After She Went Missing

The remains of a missing 19-year-old TikTok influencer, Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Pina, also known as “China Baby,” were discovered in a water plant in Lima, Peru. The body parts were found lodged in the plant’s river filtration grid, causing a significant obstruction. The discovery was made by police officers during a routine inspection of the facility.

Forensic teams were able to identify the remains through Pina’s unique tattoos, including one on her back that read “Paula Sophia” with a date. The plant workers discovered the remains on June 9, four days after Pina posted her last TikTok video to her 5,000 followers.

Pina, originally from Venezuela, had moved to Peru as a minor to live with her then-boyfriend, Meiner Jimenez Castillo. Her family reported that she left her home country without informing them of her plans. In 2022, Castillo was found dead in Lima, an apparent suicide. However, his family has persistently accused Pina of being involved in his death and has harassed her on social media.

The remains of the young influencer were found scattered within the water plant’s river filtration grid about a week after the initial discovery. Some of her body parts are still unaccounted for. A graphic video showing the recovery of the teenager’s remains from the plant was released last month.

The Peruvian National Police are investigating the crime, noting that the brutal nature of Pina’s death bears similarities to methods used by human traffickers. As of now, no suspects have been identified in connection with her death.
