Teen suspects attack & carjack 82-year-old outside Willow Grove Mall, steal gift he bought his wife – WPVI
In a suburban Philadelphia mall parking lot earlier this month, two teenagers hit an 82-year-old man in the head from behind, knocked him down, and stole his truck, along with a gift for his wife.
Around 8:15 p.m. Sept. 10, the victim finished shopping at Willow Grove Mall and was walking through the mall parking lot toward his truck, Abington Township police said.
Police told reporters that two male teenagers approached the victim from behind, and one of them hit him in the head with a hard object.
As the suspects forced the victim to the ground, they told him, “This is a hold-up. Give us all your money,” according to WPVI.
He had then purchased a gift for his wife, which the suspects took along with the keys to his truck.
It was reported that the pair fled in the stolen red 2008 Ford Ranger two-door pickup truck with a ladder rack in the bed that had the Pennsylvania license number YVG-3700.
Surveillance images of the suspects were released by police on Wednesday, according to the station.
Anyone with information about the suspects or truck is asked to call Abington Township police at 267-536-1100; those with information can also contact Detective Jeff Anderson at 267-536-1102.
