Internationally acclaimed singer Shakira was recently admitted to a hospital in Peru due to an abdominal issue, leading to the postponement of her scheduled concert. The 48-year-old artist shared the news with her fans via Instagram Stories, expressing her disappointment at not being able to perform.
Shakira, who was set to perform at Estadio Nacional in Lima on Sunday and Monday, revealed that her doctors had advised against her taking the stage due to her current health condition. Despite her eagerness to reconnect with her fans in Peru, the singer had to prioritize her health.
The Colombian singer-songwriter, known for her energetic performances and unique vocal style, expressed hope that she would recover quickly and be able to perform the following day. She also assured her fans that her team and the concert promoter were working on rescheduling the concert.
Shakira had just kicked off her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in Rio de Janeiro the previous Tuesday. Her second performance took place in São Paulo on Thursday. The tour was set to continue with back-to-back performances in Lima, Peru, before moving on to several shows in Colombia starting on February 20.
Following her first show in Rio de Janeiro, Shakira took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her fans for their love and energy. She echoed similar sentiments after her São Paulo concert, thanking her fans for their passion and energy.
Shakira is still riding high from her recent win at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she took home the award for Best Latin Pop Album for “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran”. The singer, visibly moved, thanked her fans and dedicated the award to her two sons, Milan and Sasha, who were present at the ceremony.
