Netflix Actress Found Dead at 24

South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, celebrated for her performances in the action film “The Man from Nowhere” and the thriller “The Neighbor,” was tragically found dead in her Seoul residence on Sunday. The 24-year-old starlet, who embarked on her acting journey at the young age of nine, was discovered by a friend who had planned to visit her.

Kim Sae-ron’s rise to stardom was tainted by a drunk driving incident in May 2022, which resulted in her withdrawal from the public sphere. The unfortunate event involved her crashing her vehicle into a roadside electrical transformer box, causing public humiliation and prompting her to take a hiatus from her acting career.

In the aftermath of the incident, Kim was slapped with a fine of 20 million won (approximately $13,850) and stopped accepting acting roles. She also stepped down from her role in the drama series “Trolley.” Despite her efforts to make a comeback to acting the following year, she had to withdraw due to health issues.

The actress was found lifeless around 4:50 p.m. local time. The police, who are currently probing the circumstances of her death, have not found any signs of foul play to date.

Despite her personal tribulations, Kim’s acting career was punctuated with several awards. She was honored as “Best New Actress” at numerous Korean arts awards ceremonies and featured in the Netflix action series “Bloodhounds” in 2023, which was her last work.

Kim’s premature death has sent shockwaves through the South Korean entertainment industry, as she was a cherished figure who had made substantial contributions to the field despite her tender age. The cause of her death is still under investigation.
