Kentucky court suspends prosecutor who asked for nude photos – NBC News

A Kentucky prosecutor who promised a defendant nude photos in exchange for helping her has been suspended by the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Commonwealth Attorney Ronnie Goldy serves Bath, Menifee, Montgomery, and Rowan counties. While the court temporarily suspended Goldy, it said in its Friday order that only the General Assembly can remove him from office through impeachment.

According to reporters, Goldy exchanged 230 pages of Facebook messages with the female defendant. At a hearing on Sept. 8, Goldy said he didn’t recall sending the messages but didn’t deny doing so. According to the woman, Goldy withdrawn warrants and continued cases in exchange for photos. In addition, she claimed to have had sex with the prosecutor.

As well as being suspended, Goldy could also be disbarred. Messages from reporters were not immediately answered.
