Postal Worker Shot in the Face by Amazon Driver

A mail carrier is battling for his life in critical condition after being shot in an apartment building on Monday afternoon. The alleged shooter, identified by authorities as a package delivery driver, is now in police custody.

The incident took place around 1 p.m. at the West Mall Place Apartments, situated north of the Everett Mall and near the Everett Police Department’s South Precinct. The injured postal worker was immediately rushed to Harborview Medical Center where he is currently receiving treatment.

As part of their ongoing investigation, police have impounded a U.S. Postal Service truck and an Amazon delivery van. The probe aims to uncover the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation between the two delivery drivers.

Jelani Jones, a local resident, expressed shock at the incident, stating that he was acquainted with the injured mail carrier. Jones described the victim as a friendly individual who was well-liked in the community.

Postal inspectors have revealed that the mail carrier was on his usual route when the altercation took place. Eyewitnesses reported a brief dispute before the Amazon driver allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the postal worker in the face. Following the shooting, the suspect is said to have entered an office, confessed to the crime, and waited by his truck.

The suspect was swiftly apprehended by Everett Police and is now facing charges. The local community is anxiously awaiting answers about what triggered the violent incident.
