Texas girl shoots father in alleged murder plot, police say – MYSA
Sheriff’s deputies say a 12-year-old girl plotted a scheme to murder her family. She plotted this with another girl that intended to also kill her own family. It was reported that they planned it for weeks before one of the girls followed through and shot her father.
The incident occurred in Weatherford, TX on Tuesday around 11:30 pm. Weatherford is about 30 miles west of Fort Worth, TX.
When police arrived on the scene, they found a 12-year-old girl in the street with a gunshot wound to her head. Her father was found shot in the abdomen inside the home.
The girl shot her father, fled the scene, and then shot herself.
The girl and father were taken by air to the hospital. They were being treated for gunshot wounds. As of now, their conditions are unknown.
Parker County Sheriff’s Office reports, the 12-year-old Weatherford girl reportedly planned the attempted murder with another young girl from Lufkin, TX. The plot included killing their families and pets. Afterward, the duo planned to drive together to Georgia.
According to reports, the Lufkin girl intended to kill her own father, but decided not to follow through with it.
The Lufkin girl has been charged by Parker County with criminal conspiracy. The Lufkin Police Department is also investigating the crime.
Sheriff Authier made it clear that a lot of information on this case will not be made public due to the age of those involved. He said, “Due to the injuries, the age of the juveniles and the sensitive case matter, information released regarding this case will be limited.”
