Police Follow Trail of Blood to Shocking Scene

A gruesome discovery in an abandoned building in Long Beach, California, has left local residents in shock. Police reported that they found a homeless man, aged 35, stabbed to death after following a trail of blood. The incident occurred on Thursday morning on Long Beach Boulevard near East Anaheim Street, where police were called to assist firefighters attending to a man in need of medical attention.

Upon arrival, the police followed a trail of blood leading to an abandoned building. Inside, they discovered the lifeless body of the man, who had suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper body. Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased may have been involved in a dispute with another individual who subsequently fled the scene. Local residents confirmed to KABC that the victim was homeless, a growing issue in the area.

Alma Iniguez, an employee at a nearby cellular wireless tent, expressed her concern about the escalating tensions in the neighborhood. She described the area as conflict-ridden, especially after business hours. “They come, scream and they scare you, and you don’t know how to react or how they’re going to react when they get angry,” Iniguez said.

Martha Orellano, a street vendor in the area, also shared her observations with KABC. She noted that the neighborhood’s condition has deteriorated since the onset of the pandemic. Orellano advised residents to call the police if they feel threatened or harassed.

The police are continuing their investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their inquiries.
