Austin K. Green-Yurick was arrested in connection to a murder in Portland, Oregon. He has been charged with murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, and unlawful use of a weapon, according to court records.
An affidavit reported Green-Yurick allegedly struck and killed his mother, Kathy S. Green, 64, with a baseball bat as he was said to be fed up with how she was treating him.
The attack occurred Thursday at 7:26 p.m. after Portland police were dispatched to a home on Northeast 68th Avenue. Washington state CBS affiliate KEPR stated Green-Yurick called 911 to report he had hit his mother in the head with a baseball bat, expressing he was no longer able to tolerate the way his mother was treating him.
Officers located the victim with life-threatening injuries. Green-Yurick was cooperative with police and was taken into custody.
Unfortunately, the victim passed away at the hospital on Saturday.
