Mass shooting at nightclub, suspect remains at large

Early Sunday morning, tragedy struck a Kansas City nightclub when a shooting occurred, leaving three people dead and two others injured.

Upon police arriving to the Klymax Lounge at 1:25 a.m., they discovered the five victims both inside and outside the club. Two of the victims were deceased at the site, and the third passed away in the hospital. One of the surviving victims was in critical condition, while the other was stable. No suspect or motive has been established.

Less than an hour prior to this incident, four people were shot outside of the Tin Roof bar in Birmingham, Alabama. An off-duty police officer was present at the bar when an individual reported the shooting. Subsequently, three men and one woman were found to have been hit by gunfire.

An SUV was seen fleeing the vicinity and was later pulled over not far away from the bar. Its relation to the crime remains uncertain.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, this marks the 230th mass shooting in the US in 2021, with mass shootings being defined as shootings that leave four or more people injured.
