Man Shot Teen Mom in Front of Young Daughter

An Indiana resident is facing charges of murder and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, following the fatal shooting of his girlfriend. Tyairz Glover, 20, is accused of shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend, LaNya Anderson, in the head in front of her young daughter. Glover initially attempted to convince authorities that Anderson had taken her own life, but a text message confession to his mother led to his arrest.

The incident occurred on September 26 in Indianapolis, at the Amber Woods apartments near 38th and Mitthoefer. Glover was taken into custody and held without bond over the weekend. The text message Glover sent to his mother, in which he admitted to the shooting, was a key piece of evidence leading to his arrest.

According to local reports, the shooting followed an argument between Glover and Anderson. Danyette Smith, a family friend and advocate against domestic violence, expressed her heartbreak over the incident. Smith, whose daughter was friends with Anderson, had heard of previous domestic disputes between the couple.

Smith shared the emotional impact of the incident, recounting how her daughter’s friends had tried to help Anderson. The friends’ attempts to intervene and their subsequent grief underscore the devastating effects of domestic violence.

Glover’s mother reportedly informed the police that her son had a history of mental health issues and had previously threatened violence against others, including herself. She also revealed that Glover had once threatened to kill her.

Smith emphasized the importance of recognizing the signs of domestic violence, stating that education and awareness could potentially save lives. Anderson’s parents also acknowledged that they were aware of issues between Glover and Anderson.

Anderson’s mother, Dionna Sweeney, expressed regret over not intervening more. She revealed that Anderson had called her on the morning of the shooting, during which Sweeney could hear an argument in the background. The call was abruptly disconnected, and Glover called back 20 minutes later to inform her of Anderson’s death, claiming that she had shot herself.

Quincy Sweeney, Anderson’s father, shared his struggle to separate his daughter from the toxic relationship. He expressed his feelings of failure and concern for his granddaughter, who is now left without her mother.
