Infant Found Abandoned in Dunkin’ Donuts

In a disturbing sequence of events, two infants were abandoned in New York City within a 24-hour period. Early Tuesday morning, a baby boy, estimated to be between three and four months old, was found in a stroller at a Dunkin’ Donuts located at 1791 Westchester Ave. in the Bronx. Law enforcement officials reported that the infant was awake and responsive when discovered around 8 a.m.

The baby was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Later that day, the child’s mother returned to the Dunkin’ Donuts and was directed to the local police precinct. As of now, there have been no arrests related to this incident.

This event closely followed another similar case. On Monday morning, during the peak of rush hour, a newborn baby was found abandoned on the platform of the 34th Street-Penn Station. The newborn, whose umbilical cord was still attached, was found swaddled in blankets.

According to police reports, an unidentified person was seen entering the station and leaving the baby on the floor, wrapped in a blanket. The individual then exited the subway station and vanished on foot. The newborn was immediately taken to Bellevue hospital by police officers and is reported to be in stable condition.

In an effort to identify the person responsible for abandoning the newborn, police released a video on Tuesday. The video depicts a woman walking on 34th Street and 7th Avenue, carrying a bundle wrapped in white cloth. The woman is sought for questioning in relation to the case.

These incidents have ignited concern among the public and authorities, underscoring the need for heightened awareness and support for parents in distress. The investigation into both cases is currently ongoing.
