Dr. Oz Saves Passenger on JetBlue Flight

Dr. Mehmet Oz, a renowned physician and television personality, came to the rescue of a fellow passenger who fell unconscious on a JetBlue flight from New York to Mexico last Friday. The middle-aged man regained consciousness after receiving oxygen and drinking orange juice, a common remedy for sudden fainting due to low blood sugar. Oz recommended that the man seek a detailed medical evaluation upon his return home.

The medical emergency occurred about an hour into the flight bound for Cabo San Lucas. When flight attendants requested medical assistance, Oz promptly stepped in to help. A video obtained by TMZ shows Oz leaning over an aisle seat, seemingly speaking to the patient, while flight attendants stood nearby.

Oz, who was en route to a wedding, explained that oxygen is often the most effective treatment in such situations The passenger’s condition improved significantly, and Oz even provided his phone number in case of another emergency after landing.

This is not the first time the 64-year-old has offered assistance while traveling. In 2018 Oz helped a passenger who collapsed on a New York flight to Las Vegas. He managed to stabilize the man’s pulse and blood pressure by having lie on his back with his feet elevated. Using electrode pads from the plane’s Automated External Defibrillator, Oz conducted a makeshift EKG test. The passenger was later diagnosed with a severe flu at a hospital.

In another incident in 2021, Oz assisted a man who collapsed at the baggage claim area of Terminal A Newark airport. Alongside a Port Authority police officer, Oz performed CPR on the 60-year-old New Jersey man, who was later rushed to a local hospital in intensive care.

Oz, a one-time Pennsylvania senate candidate, has a history of stepping in to provide medical aid in emergencies. His quick thinking and medical expertise have proven invaluable in these situations, potentially saving lives.
