Country Music Star Chris Young Arrested

Country music sensation Chris Young found himself in hot water on Monday night in Nashville, Tennessee, after an altercation with law enforcement officers at a local bar. Court records and jail data reveal that Young is now facing charges of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

The incident took place at a bar in close proximity to the famous Country Music Hall of Fame and the city’s vibrant Broadway nightlife district. Arrest affidavits sourced from the Davidson County sheriff’s records indicate that Young was accused of assaulting Joseph T Phillips, an agent with Tennessee’s Alcohol Beverage Commission.

Phillips reported that Young began tailing the agents while they were carrying out routine compliance checks at nearby bars. The dispute began at Tin Roof, a local bar where Young had his identification checked and engaged in a dialogue with the agents. Young then started filming the law enforcement officers, as per the affidavits.

The situation took a turn for the worse when Young and his companions reportedly followed the agents to another bar, DawgHouse. Phillips alleges that Young attempted to block him from exiting the bar and proceeded to hit the agent on the shoulder. In response, Phillips pushed Young away forcefully.

As the agents tried to depart, several bar patrons got involved, creating a hostile environment by shouting and screaming, according to Phillips. Two agents had a hard time arresting Young, who exhibited bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He was eventually arrested just after 10 p.m., as per jail records. Young was released at 1:09 a.m. the following day after posting bond.

Young gained fame after winning the television talent-search series “Nashville Star” in 2006. His song “Think of You” earned a Grammy nomination for best country duo/group performance in 2017. He is set to release his album “Young Love & Saturday Nights” on March 22.
