3 children killed in Easter egg hunt shooting

Tristan Morgan, a six-year-old, Patriza Deterville, a thirty-three-year-old, and Jamal Watson, a thirty-eight-year-old, were the unfortunate victims of a shooting incident in Poppy Park, near Orlando, whose lives were taken away in a cruel manner.

One of the adult victims is in critical condition, and another has sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

Witnesses to the event reported the horrific scene, where the sound of gunshots disrupted the festive Easter egg hunt at the park. Though a lot of children were present, not all of the five people that were shot were taking part in the hunt – two of them were not.

The grandmother of two of the victims shared her sorrow and confusion over the violent occurrences which have become so common in our society. She mentioned that the assailants had targeted a car near the park, and multiple perpetrators were involved.

Orange County Commissioner Mike Scott arrived at the crime scene to show his support for the Orlando Police Department who are striving to find the guilty parties. However, the police have not yet been able to locate any clues.

The tragedy that occurred in Poppy Park serves as a memento of the violence and destruction that lurks in our society and for the innocent lives that were taken away or forever changed.
