13-year-old driving stolen car flees police, causes fiery crash that leaves 1 dead, 10 injured

A fatal incident occurred in Woodland, California on Saturday, when a 13-year-old boy drove a stolen vehicle erratically, leading to a police chase.

The car eventually crashed into two other vehicles at an intersection, causing two of them to ignite. One woman died in the crash, while 10 others were injured, including a 3-year-old who had to be airlifted to a hospital.

The 13-year-old was the only occupant of the stolen car, and was taken into custody following the crash. He was charged with Vehicular Manslaughter with Negligence and Evading an Officer Causing Injury, and taken to the Yolo County Juvenile Hall. The identity of the deceased woman and the suspect have not been released by police.

This tragedy comes shortly after five children in Connecticut were killed in a car accident involving a 16-year-old driver, who drove an SUV off the road and crashed into a tree, setting the vehicle on fire and killing all passengers, except for a 9-year-old.
