Zac Efron Hospitalized Following Incident in Spain

Hollywood actor Zac Efron was hospitalized on Friday night following a minor swimming mishap in Spain, according to his representative. The 36-year-old star of “High School Musical” was discovered in a villa’s pool in Ibiza by two employees who promptly rescued him. The circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear, with no confirmation whether it was a medical emergency or a near-drowning situation.

Details surrounding the incident are yet to be disclosed. However, Efron’s representative assured that the actor was rushed to the hospital as a safety measure. Attempts to reach the actor’s publicists for further comments were unsuccessful.

Efron was reportedly discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning and is currently in good health. The “Greatest Showman” actor has not yet shared any information about the incident on his social media platforms.

It is believed that Efron was in Spain as part of his European tour, which included attending the 2024 Paris Olympics. The actor, known for his role in “Iron Claw,” was seen at the opening ceremony of the Games on July 26. He even shared a picture of himself posing by the Seine river during his visit.

Efron is known to be friends with Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles. Following Team USA’s gold medal victory in the gymnastics team final, Efron gave Biles a heartfelt shoutout on social media. The two first met at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where Biles, then 27, admitted to being a big fan of Efron. The actor even shared a few pictures with the gymnast, expressing his joy at having his “Olympic dream” come true.
