Woman murdered at Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru

On the morning of Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 at around 7:30 a.m., the Cheltenham Township community in Pennsylvania was met with an appalling tragedy.

35-year-old Rachel King, a teacher at Grover Cleveland Elementary Schools for ten years, was shot and killed in a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru while her 11-year-old son was in the back seat of her SUV.

Montgomery County District Attorney, Kevin Steele, said that the shooting “appears to be a targeted murder.” The suspect fired multiple times at Rachel after she pulled up in a black Ford Edge to the Melrose Shopping Center. The suspect was described as a Black individual in a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with a hood up and light-colored pants.

It is believed that the suspect was in a light-colored sedan, potentially a Ford or Mercury, that was behind the victim’s SUV before it parked a short distance away from the drive-thru.

Local authorities have commenced an investigation by questioning witnesses and examining surveillance footage from businesses in the area. Montgomery County detectives are asking anyone with knowledge of the suspect or the car to contact the detectives.
