Woman arrested after refusing to leave Taco Bell drive-thru

Demetra Bailey, 39, of California, is facing a fourth DUI charge after refusing to leave the drive-thru lane at Taco Bell. Bailey pleaded not guilty to two felony DUI charges and resisting arrest.

According to court documents, the incident began when police received calls that a motorist at the Taco Bell in Bakersfield, California, appeared to be drunk and was not leaving the drive-thru lane.

An officer was sent to the scene and, upon arriving, activated his emergency lights.

Bailey, who has had three previous DUI convictions, put her car in reverse in an attempt to exit the drive-thru lane. Instead, her car went over the curb and got stuck. Bailey then exited her vehicle and began to flee on foot.

It was also revealed that she was driving with a suspended or revoked license.

The Bakersfield Police Department was contacted for comment but did not respond.
