John Crawley, a popular figure on TikTok known by his online alias KingBeardX, has passed away at the age of 47. The news was shared by Anthony Caruso, a close friend and former podcast co-host of Crawley, on a GoFundMe page that was initially set up to support the TikTok comedian’s medical expenses.
Caruso broke the news on August 19, a day after Crawley’s demise. He expressed his gratitude to those who had contributed to the fundraiser, and relayed a message from Crawley’s mother, who thanked everyone for their support. The fundraiser will continue to help cover funeral costs and provide financial assistance to Crawley’s mother.
Crawley, who had amassed over 3.5 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, was admitted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo earlier this month due to breathing difficulties. His condition was described as “quite unstable” on the fundraising page, and he was subsequently moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The family of the TikTok star, who was the primary earner in his household, had sought Caruso’s help in launching the fundraiser to cover Crawley’s medical bills, as he did not have health insurance. Caruso had expressed concern about Crawley’s health condition in a post on the fundraising page two weeks prior to Crawley’s passing.
Crawley’s death was confirmed by Glenfield Funeral Home, which stated that he passed away on August 18 at North Mississippi Medical Center. Numerous fans of the late internet star paid tribute to him on his obituary page, expressing their condolences to his family and sharing their fond memories of his entertaining videos.
One fan wrote, “My condolences to his friends and family. Loved watching his videos. Always made me laugh. Rest in peace buddy.” Another added, “I watched him on TikTok and he always made me laugh! May he rest in peace! Healing vibes to the family.” Many echoed these sentiments, remembering Crawley as a sweet, funny, and caring presence on social media.
