The Miami-Dade Police Department is requesting the public’s help in locating Monico Galban, a 19-year-old man who is suspected of murdering 27-year-old Jose Guarjardo. According to authorities, the fatal shooting occurred in the 500 block of NW 3rd Avenue in Homestead, Florida.
On May 29th, Guarjardo was outside his home with his mother and 1-year-old son when Galban allegedly approached on foot and opened fire multiple times. Despite the efforts of first responders, Guarjardo passed away from his injuries on June 3rd.
Henry Carrillo, a witness who was nearby at the time of the shooting, reported hearing several gunshots, some of which appeared to be like a machine gun, and shared that a local car was damaged by the gunfire. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
The Miami-Dade Police Department and The Florida Keys Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of Galban.
