Teen carrying three guns, shoots 12-year-olds at the bus stop

16-year-old with multiple guns shoots 2 younger students waiting for school bus – WPLG Local 10

In Northwest Miami-Dade, two 12-year-old boys were shot and wounded while waiting for their school bus Thursday morning, according to police. Miami-Dade Police Det. Argemis Colome said the shooting began as an attempted robbery near Northwest 109th Street and Tenth Avenue shortly before 8 a.m.

Police said a 16-year-old boy opened fire on the victims without cause in a news conference Thursday. He then fled. “These are two juveniles — two 12-year-olds — it could be one of our children going to school,” Colome noted.

According to local reports, the two 12-year-olds are students at Madison Middle School. “That is the last thing that parents want, their children getting shot at upon arrival at school.”
According to Colome, they have been transported to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

According to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the school’s administration and police responded immediately to this incident. To ensure a safe learning environment for students and employees, M-DCPS created a perimeter and began searching for the teen, who was eventually taken into custody nearby.

Miami-Dade police found two handguns and one rifle. Colome said the Miami-Dade Police Department is asking itself, “Why is a 16-year-old armed with a firearm?” The Miami-Dade Police Chief Alfredo “Freddy Ramirez III” added: “I am appalled that a 16-year-old had a rifle and two handguns in his possession. “I’m deeply disturbed that he used one of these firearms to shoot two of our innocent children.”

The latest shooting occurred just hours after two teenagers were shot and wounded in Hialeah.

According to Hialeah Fire Rescue, the two teens were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center after driving themselves to Mount Sinai Medical Center.

According to Hialeah Fire Rescue Chief David Rodriguez, the woman was shot four times in the arms and legs, and the 16-year-old was shot once in the arm. As they were airlifted to the Miami hospital late Wednesday, both teens appeared awake and alert.

Their condition is serious but stable, according to fire-rescue officials.
