Stevie Nicks Reveals Serious Health Scare During Rescheduled Concert

Stevie Nicks, the acclaimed 76-year-old vocalist, recently experienced a significant health crisis. Earlier this month, she was forced to cancel a solo concert in Glasgow, Scotland, due to a reported leg injury that required surgical intervention. However, during a rescheduled performance on July 24, Nicks revealed that her health situation was much more serious than initially disclosed.

During the concert, Nicks shared with her audience that she had been battling a severe infection. “I don’t know what happened. I just got this strange infection, and it just spiraled out of control,” she explained. The Fleetwood Mac singer was in Glasgow for her concert on July 6, residing in a castle. She mentioned that she had arrived a few days earlier to explore the city before her performance.

The gravity of her condition became evident late one night when she informed her assistant that they needed to seek medical attention. A local butler transported them to the hospital in his BMW Sedan. Nicks spent two days in the hospital before returning to the castle and deciding to cancel the Glasgow performance.

Nicks revealed to her audience that she had been grappling with the infection throughout her tour. Despite her health challenges, she was determined to return to Glasgow, which led to the rescheduling of her July 6 Glasgow concert and her July 9 Manchester concert. The Glasgow venue OVO Hydro announced the postponements on X (formerly Twitter), attributing them to a leg injury that necessitated minor surgery and recovery time.

Nicks managed to perform at the rescheduled Manchester concert on July 16. She also performed at BST Hyde Park in London on July 12, despite her health scare. During this performance, she invited Harry Styles to join her for a duet of her iconic song “Landslide,” in tribute to the late Christine McVie, a key member of Fleetwood Mac who passed away at 79 in November 2022 after suffering a stroke and being diagnosed with cancer.

Nicks told the audience at BST Hyde Park that asking Styles to perform the song was a difficult decision, given that it was about her best friend who had died so suddenly and tragically. She also expressed her belief that Fleetwood Mac cannot continue without McVie, stating, “When Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her. You just can’t. Without her, what is it? You know what I mean?”
