Sniper Attack at ICE Facility Leaves Two Dead, Several Injured

A deranged sniper targeted three immigrants, killing two, as they were being escorted into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility for processing early Wednesday, according to authorities. The unidentified shooter launched the attack from a rooftop as agents were leading the immigrants into the ICE office just before 7 a.m. local time. This incident occurred just a month after a bomb threat was reported at the same location, according to Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin.

McLaughlin reported that there were three fatalities, including the sniper who was found dead on a rooftop. The victims were potentially detainees, she added. The incident did not result in any law enforcement fatalities, but there were other injuries, some of which were critical. McLaughlin described the attack as “monstrous.”

The shooter began his attack while the detainees were being transferred and the entrance to the facility was open. The shooter, identified as a white male, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office as law enforcement closed in, according to police sources. It remains unclear if there were other shooters involved in the attack.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the multiple injuries and fatalities. She expressed concern over the escalating violence against ICE law enforcement, calling for an end to such attacks. Noem urged the public to pray for the victims and their families.

Vice President JD Vance echoed Noem’s sentiments, condemning the relentless attacks on law enforcement, particularly ICE. He called for an end to such violence and offered prayers for those injured in the attack and their families.
