A startling discovery of potential human remains in North Houston has sparked an investigation by local law enforcement. The Houston Police Department is currently working to identify the deceased individual whose remains were found outside a residential property.
Connie Guerrero and her sister stumbled upon the chilling find on McIntosh Street while they were preparing to discard old mattresses. They discovered a skull resting atop the pile of trash, which prompted them to immediately alert the authorities. Guerrero described the shocking moment, saying they had just returned home from breakfast when they found the skull on the trash they were about to dispose of.
Upon their arrival, police officers secured the scene and initiated their investigation. They observed that the skull seemed to have been buried for a considerable period, as it was filled with dirt.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a homeless woman in the vicinity with the skull. The police were able to locate this woman, who subsequently guided them to a site containing additional remains. To aid in the recovery process, an anthropologist from the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office was summoned.
The discovery has deeply unsettled the Guerrero family and the local community. Guerrero voiced her concern about the proximity of the find to her home and expressed curiosity about the identity of the deceased.
As the investigation progresses, the Medical Examiner’s office is striving to determine the cause of death and identify the deceased. Authorities are encouraging anyone with pertinent information to step forward.
The local residents are left pondering the mystery, hoping that the family of the deceased will find closure. Echoing the sentiments of many, Guerrero said, “I hope someone finds peace knowing their loved one has been found.”
