San Francisco Tech Worker Found Murdered in Her Home

The arrest of a man in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, a tech worker in San Francisco, was announced by local authorities last week. Scott Fisher, 29, was taken into custody in Concord, California, approximately 30 miles northeast of the Presidio Heights apartment where his girlfriend, 27-year-old Kimberly Wong, was found dead on November 30.

Fisher was apprehended on Thursday morning and subsequently booked into the San Francisco County Jail on homicide charges, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department. Wong was discovered unresponsive in her Clay Street apartment, where she is believed to have resided with Fisher. Despite officers’ attempts at life-saving measures, Wong was declared dead at the scene.

From the early stages of their investigation, detectives suspected that Wong’s death was a result of domestic violence. However, the specific circumstances that led them to suspect Fisher have not been disclosed.

The exact cause of Wong’s death is yet to be released. Wong was a product designer at Plaid, a San Francisco-based company that connects customers’ financial accounts to apps and other online services. Her colleagues remembered her as a “smart, talented, positive, and a valued member of our team who made an impact on everyone who worked with her,” according to a statement released by the company to SF Gate.

The company expressed their devastation at the news of Wong’s passing. Meanwhile, prison records indicate that Fisher is currently being held without bail. The case is still open and under investigation, as noted by investigators.
