Mysterious Death of “Man Sitting in Chair” Ruled Homicide

In Indianapolis, Indiana, local authorities have initiated a homicide investigation following the mysterious death of a man in a residential area on the city’s west side. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was reportedly found in a state of irregular breathing before his demise.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a distress call around 10:30 p.m. on Monday. The call led them to a house located on the 500 block of S. Holt Road, near the intersection of Holt Road and Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers interacted with the residents of the house, who reported the deceased was found sitting in a chair, exhibiting abnormal breathing patterns.

Emergency medical services arrived shortly after the police, declaring the man dead at the scene. The IMPD later identified the victim as an adult male. Homicide detectives from the IMPD were also dispatched to the scene, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office subsequently confirmed the death as a homicide. The identity of the victim will be released once the next-of-kin have been notified, as per police protocol.

The IMPD is urging anyone with information related to the incident to reach out to Homicide Det. Sgt. Michael Duke. As of now, the police and other authorities have not disclosed any additional information regarding the circumstances of the man’s death or the reasons for ruling it a homicide.
