Phoenix, AZ – Police in Arizona have confirmed that a missing woman is one of two individuals found dead in a parking lot earlier this month. Authorities have identified the victims as 25-year-old Doris Aguilar and 51-year-old Juan Cuellar, with Aguilar being the victim of a homicide.
Aguilar was reported missing by her family on July 1, and her body was discovered six days later in a steakhouse parking lot near 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. The bodies had been in the car for several days. Notably, the vehicle in which Aguilar was found did not belong to her, and a firearm was recovered by the police.
While the Maricopa County medical examiner is determining the exact cause of Aguilar’s death, investigators have concluded that Cuellar took his own life. However, unsettling details have emerged, potentially indicating a motive for the crime. Aguilar’s family, along with a private investigator, have alleged that Cuellar had been stalking her.
According to Aguilar’s relatives, she expressed concerns about her safety as she believed she was being relentlessly pursued by Cuellar. Private investigator Steve Fischer revealed that Cuellar had previously worked in the same building as Aguilar until he was fired about a year ago. Despite losing his job, Cuellar continued to send threatening messages to Aguilar.
These revelations shed light on the alarming circumstances surrounding Aguilar’s disappearance and subsequent death. On the day she went missing, her car was found outside the Christown Spectrum shopping center in central Phoenix. Strikingly, the vehicle was unlocked, with most of Aguilar’s personal belongings still inside.
As detectives continue to investigate this tragic incident, the community is eager for further developments in the case.
