3 Dead, 6 Injured After Mass Shooting at Block Party

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A block party in Philadelphia turned deadly early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted, leaving three people dead and six others injured.

According to reports from local media outlets, the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Alden Street and Girard Avenue. An estimated crowd of 100 to 150 people had gathered for the event when the shots were fired.

Authorities have identified the victims as a 33-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene, a 23-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital, and a 29-year-old man who was pronounced dead at 3:08 a.m. All three suffered gunshot wounds.

Six additional victims, including three 28-year-old men, a 26-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and a 30-year-old man, are currently in stable condition after being hospitalized, according to police.

Multiple firearms were involved in the incident. Two semiautomatic handguns were recovered from two of the victims, while another weapon was turned over to investigators by a witness. Law enforcement officials reported finding a total of 36 spent shell casings, suggesting the use of at least three firearms.
