Missing teen found dead in field

Rosa Lugo is in a state of utter distress, trying to find out what happened to her 14-year-old son Carlos after his body was found on the north side of Houston last weekend, to KHOU. Carlos had been missing for around two weeks prior to his discovery. His body was discovered near Firnat Street, close to the Hardy Toll Road, just one mile from the area he was last seen. Lugo had been desperately hoping to find her son alive, but an autopsy report later revealed Carlos had been shot and killed. To commemorate him, candles and balloons were placed at the spot where his body was found.

Lugo has no idea who could have inflicted such harm to her son and is deeply concerned that the person who did this may still be out there. She described Carlos to the outlet as a joyful and vivacious child, and his friends gathered near his school on Monday to pay tribute to him. Lugo is immensely grateful for the help of Texas EquuSearch as well as the support of the community, but the emptiness left in Carlos’ absence is too great to fill. He would have turned 15 in March, and his family had already started to plan his birthday festivities. Sadly, they are now organizing his funeral instead, which is not financially feasible, and an online GoFundMe campaign has been created to help with the expenses.

Lugo is determined to seek justice for her son and hopes the authorities can apprehend the individual responsible for his death. If anyone has any information related to Carlos’ case, they are encouraged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Additionally, a vigil will be held this weekend in his memory near the place where his body was found.
