Missing Songwriter and Model Found After Monthlong Search

Camela Leierth-Segura, a 48-year-old model and songwriter known for her collaboration with pop star Katy Perry, has been found safe and sound after being reported missing for several months. Leierth-Segura was last seen by friends in August, and her vehicle, a 2010 silver Ford Fusion, was spotted in Beverly Hills in late June.

On October 5, 2023, an unidentified individual reported seeing Leierth-Segura in Santa Monica, a city approximately 10 miles west of Beverly Hills. The Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) then requested the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) to investigate the sighting. Upon making contact with Leierth-Segura, she assured the SMPD that she was not in any danger and declined any police assistance.

The SMPD confirmed that they located Leierth-Segura in Santa Monica on October 6. Respecting her privacy, they did not disclose the exact location. After ensuring her well-being, they informed the BHPD of her safety and subsequently removed her from the Missing Persons System.

Friends of Leierth-Segura took to social media to share the good news. Cecilia Foss, a close friend, expressed her relief on Instagram, thanking everyone who helped in the search and the BHPD for their efforts. She also mentioned that Leierth-Segura’s family has requested privacy during this time.

Leierth-Segura is best known for co-writing the 2013 Katy Perry hit “Walking On Air,” which was the second single from Perry’s fourth studio album, “Prism.” The song made its debut at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number eight on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs in October 2013.

Prior to her disappearance, Leierth-Segura was reportedly having difficulty paying her rent in Beverly Hills. Her 19-year-old cat, Morris, was also reported missing. Leierth-Segura is originally from Sweden, where her family still resides.
