McDonald’s Employees Face Assault Charges After Beating Customer

Three McDonald’s employees in north Columbus are facing assault charges after a disagreement over a drive-thru order escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in a customer sustaining a broken facial bone. The incident occurred on October 17 when a customer, dissatisfied with his order, requested a correction, sparking an argument with employee Cedric Love.

Another employee, Torshawn Williams, filled a cup from the drink fountain and, along with Love and a third employee, Cornelious Goodrich, went outside. Surveillance footage captured parts of the ensuing altercation as the customer remained at the pickup window. Williams is alleged to have thrown the cup through the open driver’s side window, which led the customer to exit his van.

The three employees are then reported to have started punching the customer in the head, causing a broken orbital bone around his left eye that necessitated surgical intervention.

Goodrich, who has a previous conviction for voluntary manslaughter from 2004 and served 12 years in prison, appeared in court and was issued a $30,000 bond on Wednesday. Williams, on the other hand, received a $50,000 bond and a temporary restraining order on Thursday. Both are scheduled to return to court on November 22.

Meanwhile, an arrest warrant was issued for Love on November 6, but he remains at large. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of customers and the conduct of employees in fast-food establishments.
