On Saturday night, a mass shooting occurred in a campground near the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State during the Beyond Wonderland electronic dance music festival.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspect was “randomly shooting into the crowd” and was taken into custody. Unfortunately, two people were killed and three were injured as a result of the shooting. The event organizers instructed attendees to avoid a particular gate to the campground, yet they mentioned there was no danger.
The names of the victims and the shooter have not been disclosed at this time.
The Gun Violence Archive, a non-profit organization that records incidents, has revealed that in 2023 there have been 307 mass shootings across the United States. As per their definition, this is when at least four people, aside from the shooter, are hurt.
The motivations and intentions of the perpetrator in this incident are still unknown. The investigation is still ongoing.
