Samuel Montoya, 51, has been arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder after an incident occurred at the Tutti Frutti Bar ice cream shop in Soap Lake, Washington, on Thursday morning.
According to the police statement, emergency services were called to the scene at around 11:45 a.m. and when they arrived, they found a woman on the sidewalk bleeding from her neck with bystanders giving her first aid.
The woman told police that her husband had cut her throat with a knife. It is thought that the woman is either employed by, or the owner of, the business. Soap Lake Police Chief Ryan Cox reported that the woman is currently in a stable condition.
Records from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office show that Montoya Arroyo is currently in custody.
Soap Lake is located approximately 175 miles east of Seattle.
