On April 14, a heartbreaking incident occurred in Henrico County, Virginia, when Shelby Jacobs, aged 49, was fatally shot while helping his friend to take a television to the dumpster outside his apartment. The security cameras captured the image of Dyven G. Henderson, 18, from Henrico, looking straight into the camera before the shooting.
Alvinea Lee, Jacobs’ cousin, spoke of him as a generous and kind person who was always full of positivity and joy. She told WTVR, “He would give away what little he had to make sure no one was hurt”.
Fortunately, police managed to locate Henderson at a close-by motel and place him under arrest. He is being charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The motive for the killing is still unknown.
The loss of Jacobs has left a void in his family and the general public. Everyone is hoping that the public will be able to help in bringing justice and closure to the crime. Henrico Police has thus asked anyone with any information on the matter to contact 804-501-5000 or Crime Stoppers 804-780-1000.
