Florida resident Boris Twillman has been accused of attempted murder following an alleged road rage incident. Authorities claim that Twillman tailgated a woman, collided with her vehicle, and then ran her over with his Jeep when she exited her car to inspect the damage. Witnesses reported that Twillman appeared to be smiling maliciously as he accelerated towards the woman.
The victim, identified as Jermeria Holycross, was dragged several feet along U.S. 19 South in Largo near the intersection with East Bay Drive. Holycross sustained severe injuries, including a broken pelvis and leg, a broken rib, and multiple lacerations, scrapes, and burns. Her aunt, Misty Moore, revealed that Holycross is also grappling with significant psychological trauma from the incident.
According to the arrest report, Twillman, a resident of Pinellas Park, allegedly attempted to murder Holycross by intentionally hitting her with his vehicle, a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. He then reportedly fled the scene. Twillman later contacted the Largo Police Department, claiming that he was aware of an incident on U.S. 19 but denied personal involvement in a crash.
Surveillance footage and travel times corroborate the timeline of events, according to the police. The Largo Police Department has described Twillman’s actions as “extremely dangerous and reckless.”
Holycross was in the car with her younger brother and her boyfriend’s two toddlers at the time of the incident. Her mother, Tammy Holycross, stated that her daughter had tried to avoid Twillman but he continued to tailgate her. The children witnessed the horrifying incident, which has left them traumatized.
The family has established a GoFundMe campaign to help cover Holycross’s medical expenses. Court records reveal that Twillman was out on bail for felony aggravated battery, battery of a person 69 years or older, and aggravated assault charges related to an incident in April at the time of the alleged attempted murder. He was also facing charges of possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony and domestic battery by strangulation. The bond for the attempted murder charge has been set at $850,000, while the bond for leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury is set at $125,000.
