“Home Improvement” Star Arrested for DUI

Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for his role as Brad Taylor in the popular ABC sitcom “Home Improvement,” was arrested on Friday in Custer County, Oklahoma. The actor was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and operating a vehicle without a valid license. According to reports, Bryan was found by police officers asleep in the back seat of his car early Friday morning.

After a brief interaction with Bryan, the officers left the scene. However, they pulled him over shortly after he began driving. During the traffic stop, Bryan admitted to the officers that he had been drinking excessively the previous night. He also confessed that he was unsure if he had stopped drinking before deciding to sleep in his car.

Bryan further revealed to the officers that he was fleeing California, a place he claimed to despise. Following a series of field sobriety tests, the police arrested Bryan. The actor also disclosed that his license had been suspended due to a previous DUI arrest.

This is not Bryan’s first encounter with the law. In February, he was arrested in California on suspicion of DUI. He was charged with felony DUI, having at least three prior felonies, and misdemeanor contempt of court. Bryan was released the same day on a $50,000 bail and was scheduled for a court hearing on April 23.

In addition to his DUI charges, Bryan has faced other serious allegations. In 2020, he was charged with two counts of menacing, two counts of fourth-degree assault, coercion, felony strangulation, harassment, and interfering with making a report. These charges stemmed from an incident where he allegedly strangled his girlfriend.

Bryan has since claimed that the incident was exaggerated. He explained that the argument with his girlfriend was loud due to the thin walls of their townhome, which led to the police being called. He also suggested that the multiple charges were a tactic by the police to pressure him into pleading guilty to something.
