Former NFL Star Arrested on DUI Suspicion

Richard Sherman, a former defensive back for the Seattle Seahawks, was taken into custody on Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to arrest records. The records from King County jail reveal that the arrest was made by the Washington State Patrol in the early hours of the day. While the state patrol has confirmed the arrest, the King County Prosecutor’s office has yet to receive any charges related to the case. The circumstances leading to the arrest remain unclear.

Sherman, 35, has had previous run-ins with the law. In July 2021, he was arrested on charges of drunk driving and domestic disturbance. The police reported that Sherman had crashed his car into a construction zone and subsequently attempted to break into his in-laws’ home in the outskirts of Seattle.

The case was resolved in March 2022 when Sherman pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges in a Seattle court. Following his plea, Sherman expressed gratitude for the community’s continued acceptance despite his mistakes. He acknowledged his flaws and expressed remorse for his actions.

Sherman has had a distinguished career in football, being recognized as one of the top defensive backs of the 2010s. He has been selected for the Pro Bowl five times and has also been named an All-Pro on five occasions.

Since 2022, Sherman has been working as a pre and postgame analyst for Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football”. He also joined FS1’s “Undisputed” as a panelist last summer.
