Former ‘Amazing Race’ Contestant Sues American Airlines Over Alleged Contaminated Beverage

Shana Wall, a former contestant on the reality TV show “The Amazing Race,” has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines, alleging that she suffered serious injuries after swallowing shards of plastic in a beverage served to her during a flight. The incident, which occurred on May 1 on a flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Rome, resulted in damage to Wall’s throat, esophagus, vocal cords, and digestive system, according to the lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Wall, 51, claims that the incident left her bedridden and unable to work, necessitating ongoing medical care to address the internal damage. The actress and model, who previously dated television host Ryan Seacrest, asserts that American Airlines failed in its duty to provide uncontaminated food and beverages fit for consumption, thereby creating a dangerous and unsafe condition on the airplane.

The California native, who now resides in New York’s Meatpacking District, is seeking unspecified damages for the alleged negligence. Neither Wall nor her attorney responded to requests for comment on the lawsuit. American Airlines has also not yet issued a response.

Wall, who dated Seacrest from 2003 to 2005, has made appearances on popular TV shows such as “Married… with Children” and “Entourage.” She is currently a sommelier and contributes to the men’s magazine Best Life. Her social media posts reveal a passion for travel, particularly to destinations known for their wines and vineyards.

This is not the first time an airline has faced allegations of serving contaminated food or beverages. In June, a passenger on an Air India flight reported finding a metal object in a sweet potato served during the flight. In another incident last year, a passenger on a Korean Air flight claimed to have found a piece of glass in her coffee.
