On Sunday, June 18, law enforcement officers from the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in the 500 block of West Brown Avenue in Kellog, Idaho. The call reported that four people had been shot and killed in a nearby residence. Upon arriving at the scene, a 31-year-old man with a face tattoo reading “savage” above his eye, Majorjon Kaylor, was taken into custody and charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary.
Investigators revealed that the shooting occurred after a dispute between neighbors. The victims, Kenneth Guardipee, 65; his daughter, Kenna Guardipee, 41; and her two children, Devin Smith, 18, and Aiken Smith, 16, all lived in the lower apartment of the duplex where Kaylor and his family lived in the upstairs apartment.
Police reported that the incident happened after Kaylor and his family filed a report accusing Devin Smith of indecent exposure. The report stated that Smith had stood naked in his bedroom window and masturbated in front of Kaylor’s wife and daughter who were playing outside. The Kellogg Police Chief Paul Twidt said that his officers responded to the call and submitted an incident report recommending that Smith be charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure, however no charges have been filed yet.
Kaylor confessed to killing the four family members after his arrest. He stated that he had tried to speak with Kenna Guardipee and her father about Devin Smith, but became angry when they did not take the issue seriously. He then “snapped” and “lost it” and “did something about it.” Kaylor has been charged with four murders for “executing vengeance.”
He is set to appear in court on July 3.
