A North Carolina man is facing serious charges after allegedly inflicting severe injuries on his toddler, resulting in a spinal fracture and brain hemorrhage. The child’s injuries were so severe that part of their skull had to be surgically removed to save their life. The accused, 44-year-old Kiran Pasunuri, is currently held in the Wake County Detention Center with a bond set at $200,000.
The incident occurred on June 2 in Wake County, North Carolina, where Pasunuri resides with his two-year-old child. According to authorities, Pasunuri allegedly assaulted his toddler, causing immediate and severe injuries. Despite the apparent severity of the child’s condition, Pasunuri reportedly did not seek immediate medical help, leading to prolonged pain and suffering for the child.
The arrest warrant states that the child also suffered from compression fractures in their vertebrae. Despite these serious injuries, Pasunuri allegedly failed to provide the necessary medical attention. Eventually, the child was taken to a local hospital where doctors were forced to take drastic measures to save the child’s life, including the removal of part of the child’s skull.
The Garner Police Department conducted an investigation into the incident, leading to Pasunuri’s arrest on Thursday. The current health status of the child has not been disclosed in the arrest warrant. A judge has ordered Pasunuri to have no contact with his child.
Pasunuri is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
