Elderly Woman Slaps Driver After Parking Lot Incident at Walmart

An elderly woman from Florida, aged 80, was recently taken into custody by local authorities following a dispute in a Walmart parking lot. The woman, known as Linda Montan Frenier, is accused of physically assaulting another driver during the disagreement. Court documents from Orange County reveal that Frenier is facing charges of sudden snatching robbery, a felony, and battery, a misdemeanor.

The incident occurred on June 30, in the parking area of a Walmart situated on South Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka, a community within the larger Orlando metropolitan region. The police were summoned to the location in response to a reported battery.

Upon reaching the scene, the officer on duty met with the alleged victim, who was waiting by her car. The woman reported that she had been driving through the parking lot and had paused behind Frenier’s vehicle to consult her phone’s GPS. Frenier, who was trying to back out of her parking space, allegedly hit the passenger-side door of the victim’s car.

The victim claimed that Frenier did not apologize for the collision. Instead, she reportedly blamed the victim, got out of her car, and started to verbally assault the victim and her brother. When the victim asked Frenier to calm down and provide her insurance details, Frenier allegedly became more agitated.

As per the officer’s report, Frenier then approached the victim, made a threatening gesture, and slapped her on the left side of her face without her consent. After the alleged assault, Frenier is reported to have grabbed the victim’s phone from her hand and thrown it across the street, temporarily depriving the victim of its use. The victim expressed a wish to press charges.

A third party, who observed the incident from a nearby Steak ‘n Shake, confirmed the victim’s account. The witness claimed to have seen Frenier slap the victim, snatch her phone, and throw it across the street.

When questioned by the officer, Frenier reportedly admitted to her actions after being read her rights. She confessed to slapping the victim, taking her phone, and throwing it, stating that the victim had upset her and was getting in her face.
